About WBC

The WBC is a non profit volunteer organization that is focused on helping women succeed in the community by providing them with various networking opportunities.

There are three types of events that WBC hosts:

1. Breakfast Events every month – RSVP Now to reserve your spot!

2. Lunches every second month – RSVP Now to reserve your spot!

3. After Hour Events

The goal of the group was to provide a number of venues that could meet the needs of busy business women who are juggling work, life, balance as part of their daily lives.

Women at WBC build relationships via networking and do whatever they can to help each other be successful.

WBC Breakfasts

The WBC breakfast is held the third Tuesday of every month at The Tartan at 7:30am – 9:00am (the door opens at 7:15am).  An announcement will be sent out prior to the breakfast as a reminder or to register. The Friday prior to the event is the cut-off date for booking. If you pre-book, the event is $15/person. Payment at the door is $20.  Please register for our next event.

WBC Luncheons

The WBC Luncheon is held on the first Thursday of alternate months at 11:30am in various restaurants in the Orleans area.  This is an informal networking event with no guest speakers, no infomercials and no table for networking material.  Instead it is an opportunity to intimately network at tables for four and sample new cuisines.  Notices are sent to the membership a week prior to the event with an RSVP required to reserve your place.   Please register for our next event.

The Financial Spa

www.thefinancialspa.ca

Robyn is the Co-Founder of The Financial Spa.  The Financial Spa fills the gap we saw in the financial services market. Before the Financial Spa, a woman wanting to take charge of her financial future had two options: creating a plan with an advisor or creating one herself.

While creating with an advisor can be a great way to develop a plan, sometimes women felt they were being talked down to, or worse – they didn’t trust their own ability to know what advice to take. It also wasn’t uncommon for women to tell us they didn’t feel they had enough money to justify meeting with an advisor. Which sends them to option number two, creating a plan themselves. This time the pitfall is information overwhelm. Bookstores, libraries and the internet have more financial planning advice than anyone could sift through in a lifetime. It’s very difficult to take it all in and create a plan with confidence.

The Financial Spa creates a bridge between where you are and where you want to be. We will arm you with knowledge in an environment where you’ll never feel intimidated or out of control. This will give you more confidence when speaking with an advisor or in creating your own plan.

We work with women of all ages and income levels. Whether starting your first career or transitioning to a second, getting married, or suddenly single after divorce or the loss of your spouse, we have the financial information you need.  Please visit our website for more information or to book your personal financial consultation www.thefinancialspa.ca

New Dimension Design

Rockland, Ontario K4K 1K6

Office: (613) 446-9905

Heather Morin is a westerner from Alberta. She grew up in Calgary but has lived mostly in rural areas surrounding Calgary, as well as in Canmore. Heather graduated from Alberta College of Art and Design (ACAD) where she got her training in Graphic Design. She worked for a few years at a multimedia firm in Calgary, and then started freelancing in graphic design. She took a break from graphic design for a couple of years – travelling, managing a campground, then working at a ranch west of Calgary. Well, it wasn’t a complete break because wherever she worked, she managed to re-design that company’s website. She couldn’t help but return to what she loved doing and get back into graphic and website design full time. Heather started Skyline Design with Jan Matthews, which is located in Turner Valley, Alberta and is still a thriving, growing company.

Heather met and married an Ottawa-native named Sean Morin. She started New Dimension Design in 2007, creating a company that focuses on long term relationships with clients and their website needs. In April of 2009, Heather and Sean made the move across the country to Ottawa. New Dimension thus became nation-wide as its client base is now about half Western Canadian and half Eastern Canadian. Heather’s mission is “New technology, old-fashioned service”. Her style is to introduce new technology and website methods to her clients in a way that they can understand and to develop long term relationships with them, so that their website presence will grow and change along with their business. She helps small to medium size businesses define, strategize, build, and expand their internet presence.
