Christmas Gift Giveaway
Our December meeting tradition has been to provide the local Resource Centres with toys and gifts for children and this year is no different! Here’s how it works: If you are attending the December meeting on December 13th (note it is one week earlier) please bring a new toy, books or game for a child. The age ranges served are birth to 15. Bring it wrapped in a gift bag/tissue paper. At breakfast, the attendees get to “open” a gift and give a quick infomercial based on what is in the bag. Afterwards, they are sent on to the resource centre. We have some fun and a child gets something nice for Christmas. There are only a couple of things to keep in mind. The gift must be new and of good quality (no Dollarama items please except for the wrap). It can be of any value that you are comfortable with-all gifts are anonymous. Come on out, have fun and support our community. We encourage you to come dressed for the party in some holiday bling!
Also, wanted to mention that due to some technical difficulties if you have already booked for the Christmas breakfast you will have to rebook it – sorry about any inconvenience!

WBC Luncheon
Every second month the WBC holds networking over lunch at various restaurants in the area. An announcement will be sent out prior to the event so that you can register. The first luncheon will be on Thursday Oct 6th at 11:30am-1:00pm at Jonny Canuck’s 1-900 Watters Road, Orleans. You will be receiving a reminder by Anny Tenbult, the Luncheon Coordinator. The breakfast is held the third Tuesday of every month at The Tartan. An announcement will be sent out prior to the breakfast so that you can register.

If you would like to order the nametags that you see so many women at WBC wearing, you can do so directly. The supplier is Abdul Baseer. The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre is gearing up for our Christmas program. We are accepting donations of food, toys & cash. If you would like to sponsor an individual family please contact us to get information on a family & their needs. Please call our office at 613-741-6025 and ask for an Intake Worker or contact me at the same number and I’ll direct you accordingly.
